SM ist ein einvernehmliches (meist erotisches) Spiel, eine intensive Form von "Was sich liebt, das neckt sich" ! Statistisch gesehen hat jeder 4. Mann und jede 8. Frau Neigungen im SM-Bereich, und diese Vorliebe wird oft schon vor der Pubertät wahrgenommen. Die Basis für ein SM-Spiel sollte immer der sogenannte SSC-Code sein: Safe, sane and consensual (also sicher, mit gesundem Menschenverstand und freiwillig). Um die Sicherheit zu gewährleisten, muss vor dem Spiel ein Code-Wort für einen eventuellen Spielabbruch vereinbart werden. Besonders hilfreich ist der Ampel-Code (grün= weitermachen, gelb= nicht so doll, rot= Spiel sofort abbrechen). Ein Vor- und Nachgespräch sollte stattfinden, damit man die Vorlieben und Tabus klären kann, so wie eventuelle Krankheiten, Allergien, Rückenschmerzen... Der dominante Part sollte auch die Spielgeräte erstmal an sich selbst testen, da die Wucht des Aufpralls meist unterschätzt wird. Besonders beliebt ist die Peitsche !  Aber ein Rohrstock liegt auch gut in der Hand ...
